The new IPC tree!!!

The IPC catalogue consists of over 200 different standards and as all new people involved in IPC standards know that it is connected with some headache to find the right standard and to find out which standard apply to what area in the electronic production chain Design-Bare board-Assembly–Inspection.

To be able to teach both single IPC members and new distributors IPC European Representative Office has created a “The IPC Tree”, which is shown below and it really helps for the understanding of which and where IPC standards shall be used.

The basic idea is to have red line (RED SQUARES) in picking up the right main IPC Standard at the right place in the production chain of a printed circuit board and a blue assisting IPC standards (BLUE SQUARES) for special needs and deeper knowledge.

With this IPC tree it would be much easier for people in charge in different areas of the design and production of a PCB to understand and find IPC standards that are requested for their needs.
